At a previous job we had a web based system that allowed users to log in and update the personal info that appears in the user account on A/D and GAL.  I believe it was using sharepoint but unfortunatley didn't have anything to do with that system at the time.

As usual, new job and i need to get this setup if possible.

So the question is, Whats the easest way to do this and what tools/software (sharepoint etc) do i need?

many thanks in advance.

You can do this through a website hosted on a Windows Server. This option is easy and free. You'll need to create a seperate AppPool and set it to run as a service account that has delegated rights to update the user information. Of course this requires that you or someone else can create the web page and needed code...
If your looking for something already canned and ready to go see this link:

oh btw the free version will allow up to 50 users. I'm guessing you have more though.
