1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'202.xx.xxx.xx' (using password: YES)

I have a cent os machine with MYSQL when I login using putty and using the command mysql -u root -p after entering the root password I am able to login and see and use all the databases but the same connection when done using MYSQLADMIN or Navicat 8 Lite on windows we get the following error 1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'202.xx.xxx.xx' (using password: YES)

you will have to GRANT the permissions needed to 'root'@'202.xx.xxx.xx' , so that root has remote permissions...

Under privileges section in phpMyAdmin edit the user root and change the Host entry from localhost or anything else to Any Host and try...

I gave the following command after login in from root grant all on dbname.* to root
grant all on dbname.* to root@localhost
grant all on dbname.* to 'root' @ '202.xx.xxx.xxx'

But still the same error

Please specify the commands to be used, as I am a newbie using Mysql. I am able to login using mysql -u root -p

The issue that i was unable to login to the DBusing mysqladmin was because the default anonymous user root was not set with password and when I tried login with root and blank password it worked. I se the password for root and now using that password I am able to login.
