I'm new to RS and have a background in BI using tools such as Business Objects XI and Crystal Reports XI.

In Crystal specifically, there is a way to easily create what is called a CROSSTAB summary of data. Once data is pulled into the report,...the CROSSTAB simply summarized and aggregates the data based on the criteria you place in the crosstab setup.

I need this same functionality in RS. I have a requirement whereby the end user will pull data for a PORTFOLIO of our customers that where obtained in a given MONTH. I need to analyze the PAYMENT ACTIVITY over a period of 16 months (on average). Could be more months, could be less months but on average our customers pay us over a 16 month period.

OK...what I need RS to do is to DISPLAY A SUMMARY OF PAYMENT ACTIVITY BY MONTH THAT WILL "AUTOMATICALLY" DISPLAY ANY ADDITIONAL MONTHS AS THEY HAPPEN.

So,...IF the portfolio of customers for the month of Sep08 was used in the report,...I need a summary to begin showing [by month] their payment activity. So as of today 10/08/09 the RS report should DISPLAY all payment activity for SEP08 ...AND.... any payment activity for OCT08. .....AUTOMATICALLY...

Then as the payment data accrues over the months...I need this RS report to be READY to automatically DISPLAY a column of data for those months AS THE HAPPEN....

As of now, I do not see a way to accomplish this. I'm sure there is...but I just need to be pointed in the right direction......

THANKS

I think solution for your problem is a Matrix control. You sounded like an expert so I don't need to give much details about Matrix control.
