Renewing Third Party Certificates in Exchange 2007

A year ago I installed an Exchange 2007 server.  I also installed a third party UCC certificate at the time and it's been working great.  So now the certificate is close to expiring and I can't find too much info on renewing the certificate.  When I've renewed a certificate for IIS, it's an actual renewal request but from what I've read for Exchange it's more complicated.  It's there a "renewal" process for Exchange, or do I have to follow the process I orginally used and simply replace it?

Thanks!

not sure about renewal, but replacing the old certificate with a new one will work in any case and you would use the same commands that you used when you installed the original certificate.

Kind regards,

I consider renewing less risky as I would get a new certificate identical to the one I'm currently using.  Creating a request from scratch could introduce mistakes.  I don't use the UCC certificates often enough that I'm comfortable with them.

I think you answered the question.  You can't "renew" UCC certificates in Exchange 2007.
