Internet Explorer 7 Is Acting Strange

Hi,

I am using IE7 with XP Pro SP3. Recently on a couple of web sites I am getting strange behavior with IE7. On http://yp.yahoo,.com where I normally search for a phone number. When I type something in the search text box the letters do not show up in the text box. It is like both the background and foreground colors are both white. The web page does find what I am typing. For example if I enter "pizza hut" and press return, I get to the correct web page, it just doesn't show up in the text box while I am typing it. If I press the previous button, it is displayed correctly but it isn't displaying when I type over it, backspace, highlight it. It is very strange. It doesn't happen on any other page but this one so far.

Another strange behavior is when I go to http://www.msn.com the page is not displayed correctly. Some of the pictures do not load.

What I did was to delete all the temporary files, browsing history, reset all the settings to the default in the advanced tab, then finally I reinstalled IE7 on the computer (I didn't uninstall the current version though).

I can't think of anything else I can do. When I use Firefox 3 everything works fine. Just not in IE7.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mark1110--I understand the typing problem happens only on certain sites, correct?  All the time at those sites?  And it is in a search box at the site.
What happens if you Refresh the page.
Sometimes/somewhere problems are the hardest to fix.
Can you run System Restore to a date before the problems started?
If that does not help, IE Tools|Internet Options|Advanced tab|Reset.
The first procedure for images not loading (which I understand is limited to the one site) would also be a Refresh.  If no help

Hi,

I tried to do a refresh several times without any luck. I also did a reset without any luck either. The only thing I didn't do was to uninstall then reinstall internet explorer because I couldn't figure out how to uninstall the program.

I will try the link you sent me, but if you can think of anything else in the mean time.

Mark1110--If you installed IE7 over IE6 you should be able to uninstall from Control Panel|Add/Remove.  It is under W for Windows Internet Explorer.  You should automatically revert to IE6.
However, if you installed SP3 after installing IE7 you will not see IE7.  You have uninstall SP3 first.
