I currently can receive e-mail on my pop.comcast.net account. Until recently I could send e-mail on this account as well. What should I do to correct this and restore my ability to send e-mail?

In your account definition in Outlook, what do you have as your outgoing (SMTP) server ?

The following page from Comcast tells you how to configure your Outlook mail client to retrieve and send email with their service:

Hope this helps,
Christophe

The Comcast FAQ page you refer to is for use when traveling away from high-speed internet. My SMTP is set as it should be.

True, the page talks about traveling configuration, but it still should work when you are home. The issue when traveling is that you need SMTP authentication. But having it configured should not cause any issue when you are home.

Either way, this question is probably more appropriately asked to Comcast's customer support than this web site.

I contacted Comcast and was informed the SMTP default had been changed from 25 to 587. In making this change, my problem was solved.
