how to turn off "update email addresses based on recipient policy" option for all users?

I need to turn off the check box "Automatically update e-mail addresses based on recipient policy" for all users in our organisation. This appears on the email adresses tab of users AD accounts. The reason is that our new domain name is not our only one and we have to manually assign the email address once confirming it with the third party.

I suspect there will be a way to script this, I just dont know enough about scripting and AD to do it. any assistance is gratefully received.
