Rightfax stop delivering to otus Notes

After a reboot of the Rightfax server to reset the fax card, my installation now is not delivering notifications and inbound faxes to my lotus notes clients. The fax server is sending and receiving faxes but just not forwarding them onto the anyone in the organisation.

Any ideas were to start on this guys?

1) Check the login for Rightfax user in Notes and make sure that ceritifcate has not expired.

2) Check the log.nsf of the local client

3) Double check the password is correct for the Rightfax Client.

I hope this helps !
Where to start? Heh, use Google, and find over 20,000 documents when searching for

   rightfax lotus-notes install

I suppose the Captaris website is your main source of information. here's one document that seems interesting enough: http://www.imrgold.com/files/RightFax/ReadMe.RF90FP1.htm

A version number would come in handy when looking for documents... ;-)

9.0.1.61 is the version number. So far, Ive worked out that all faxes are still being delivered to the Fax server itself. Somehow, these faxes get delivered into the Lotus notes enviroment. Ive noticed that there is a Lotus Notes Client installed on the Fax Server and its configured with a mailbox called RightFax. Im guessing this is the mailbox which handles the delivery from Rightfax to Notes. Now somewhere on the fax server, there has got to be a connector of some sort. Something to alllow RightFax to interact with the notes enviroment but I cant see anything. Since faxes are still being received by the rightfax server, its reasonable to believe there is a problem with the connector to Notes, but where does this interface/conduit reside within the rightfax server??

Educated guesswork and possible causes:
- I suppose the RightFax's connection is via the Notes client; you might check the log.nsf database on the RF-server system
- the RightFax server doesn't know how to find the mail server (IP-problem or DNS problem); can you ping the mail server from the RF-server?
- someone removed the rights from mr. RightFax to access the mail server; check the NAB
- someone changed the password of mr RightFax
- the id for mr RF has expired...
- and more
I would check the rightfax docs to see if you are using POP3 connector ( built in I think ) or the Notes connector.

In either case you need to go to the config and find where the Rightfax user and password are store and make sure that the user is still usable ( no expired certificates ) nad confirm the password.

I hope this helps !
Ive just logged onto the notes client which is installed on the fax server and checked the log.nsf. Ive noticed there is a lot of error when the client has tried to access to GAL. I reported this to my notes admins and he has rectified the problem and also renew the certificate. Im now waiting an hour for the changes to replicate before I try again.
Ok, things have changed but it still aint fixed. Each time I restart the server, all my users are getting a load of old notifications failures via their notes accounts, things like your fax needs attention, so so deleted a fax without reading et etc.

Once all the notifications are delivered to the various users, delivery seems to cease. No new notifications are processed. Is there some area within the fax server which needs clearing out from time to time (server has been in service for 2 yrs and Ive never needed to touch it!)
Now we're getting in too much detail. To read the RF documentation seems the right thing to do now.

Do new faxes get delivered?
I would check the incoming queues, and see if the rightfax account mail is empty ( it should be since it is checked every few minutes )

I can confirm the rightfax notes account is empty and no no faxes are getting delivered to my users. Im reading the RF Documents now.

So the action (ID 22720116) to renew the certificate, as we suggested, was useless?? As was our suggestion to check the log database? Hmmm...
Sjef bosman, although I took on board your comments and check you suggestions with my notes admin guys, as I said earlier, the problem was with the addressing. Im not sure what your suggestion with your last comment.
Just needed the confirmation that our input was useless.
