Last night for some reason, all of the emails in my inbox on my Blackberry dated prior to yesterday (10/8/08 @ 10:52 am) just disappeared.  My BES has always been set to sync the past 14 days of email and my device is set to keep 30 days of email.  Any ideas why this happened and how I can get them all back?  They are still there in my Outlook just not on my BB.

We're using BES 4.1 sp5 for Microsoft Exchange.

Thanks!

Very likely your handheld ran out of memory. When your device runs low, it deletes your Enterprise E-Mail first.

To check your memory:

Options --> Status --> File Free

this number is in bytes. knock off 6 digits, and if the number is below 2, this is your issue.

Is there any way to tell the BB to use my media card (I have a 4gb card installed) for some of the device memory?

Yes and no. You can move all of your pictures and ringtones over to it, which will help a lot. Typically that is the problem my users have... to many ringtones. You can set the camera on your device to use the media card by default too.

As far as apps and other stuff goes.. nope. Also, upgrade your BB to the newest available handheld code... there was some memory issues in earlier version that would cause leaks. There still are some leaks, but each version fixes a few.

Finally.... reboot your device once a week. It will reset the free memory, just like a computer.

Thank you so much for your responses.  That helps me a lot.

But how do I move the built-in ringtones?  They do not show up on my device in the Media Manager.

You cant move the built in ones, but dont worry about them.. they are very small midis and stuff. Its the MP3's of full songs that people download that can be like 3-4MB that kill ya!
