Hi, thats a broad question..

to get you started you need to choose a design for your menu, im guessing you mean a drop down menu? even if you dont you wil lend up building your menu using a sql query and then working with the results to output html.

the most common format for this would be within a nested list:

<ul>
<li>menu item 1</li>
<li>menu item 2</li>
<li>menu item 3
<ul>
<li>menu item 3.1</li>
<li>menu item 3.2</li>
<li>menu item 3.3</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>

this would then be styled with css

to achieve the abogve your pages/categories etc in the databse must have a parent child relationship. depending on how this is done wil depend on the query you need to bring back the correct data in the correct order to write a nested list.

does any of this help?

let me know
