Cisco Aironet 1240AG Series Access Point

Experts,

Running 4 self managed Cisco Aironet 1240AG Series Access Points.
WAP's have been working for 2 years and all of sudden all 4 units now state:
Packet to client 001b.6317.a954 reached max retries, removing the client.

They are kicking all clients off every 5 minutes so what they tell me.
I increased Max. retries to 128 (max setting)

There is never more than 20 clients connected to one of the WAP's.
If more info is needed feel free to ask.

Who is client 001b.6317.a954?  What piece of hardware is it?

Sorry its multiple mac addresses ( client computers, pc and mac ) Not just one certain mac.

Check you MAC Address authentication entry, it may be that you have used the maximum allowable clients. If so you may need to clear the MAC Address authentication or disable it.

TAMSCODAN: do i have to connect a console cable and type that cmd in?

I did a reset to factory default on the WAP and right of the bat im getting this:
Mar 1 00:16:11.839  Information Interface Dot11Radio0, Deauthenticating Station 0011.24c0.b108 Reason: Previous authentication no longer valid  
Mar 1 00:16:11.838 Warning Packet to client 0011.24c0.b108 reached max retries, removing the client  
Mar 1 00:16:10.547 Information Interface Dot11Radio0, Station 0011.24c0.b108 Reassociated KEY_MGMT[NONE]

Can someone provide more information about how to connect to the WAP?? What type of wire is a CLI cable? What software do I connect to the WAP with?

You need to use a Console Cable, it has a Serial DB-9 connection one that connects to the back of your computer and an RJ-45 connection on the other. You may need to set your speeds on your terminal server client such as hyper terminal to:

COM 1
9600
8
2
1

no flow control

If these settings do not work you may need to review your product manual that should have the instructions on how to connect to your WAP through a console (serial) cable.

Yes, I deleted the SSID profile and re-created. Also, selected channels freq. according. They have been working for 10 days now.
