DevExpress XtraGrid column width problem

When my grid has no data it looks like Fig 1
When it has data, it looks like Fig2

I can't understand why the column header changes when data is placed in the grid.
I've set ColumAutoFit to False, set Column's MinimumWidth to the same value as their width but it still does it.
The images are 16x16 and the column width is 22
Although it looks like the header HEIGHT also increases, it is the header captionsthat seem to shift position
as shown in Fig3

Any ideas?

Turn off filtering/sorting on those columns and they will look correctly.
