Cannot see external drive

If I plug a USB external drive into my server 200 computer I can see the drive, with an assigned letter, in Disk Management but cannot see it in My Computer.  Cannot access it via a DOS prompt either.

Tried 2 external drives.

I had a similar problem on a laptop....... turned out it was a software issue and a rebuild sorted it out.......after the motherboard was replaced!!!

You might try updating or deleting and reinstalling your USB drivers.

Turned out the drive was assigned a letter of an existing drive.  Went to disk management and gave it a new drive letter.
