Hi,

I have a website: http://www.karathecomputertutor.com. It gets between 6.000 and 8,000 hits each month. Last week I received my first request for online advertising. A company in the UK wants to place a text link on my site. I'm starting to research this since I've never had such an offer before. They want to pay for an entire year at once. How much should I charge? Is there a special way to go about negotiating this? Anything I should watch out for?

Thanks.

I would be very careful, as sometimes people will do this as a scam... When they give you information to put on site it will link to a downloadable virus.... usually a trojan.

If it is a real offer i would charge between $10.00 and $15.00 a month

Well first i would give them a price and see what they respond... If they agree, then i would go ahead and get all the information for the text add they would like and such... Once you get the link and text post it on here prior to going on your site... We will take a look at it...

You know, I don't think I'm going to take a chance for $10 or $15 a month. I plan on selling things on my website to make money instead. But thank you for your really good advice. It might have actually saved me.
