Aloha,
I have spent the better part of an hour searching fof the correct info to help me reset the BIOS password that somehow got set on a Gateway mx6436.  I have all the bays off the laptop but can't find the battery.

There was a link on this site but it ended up going to an advertising search engine (endless loop) so I think it is now expired.

Any help on info for resetting the BIOS password or clearing it is appreciated.

Can you boot the system to windows or does the password prevents you from getting there?

If you can boot in to windows you may be able to use a thirth party software to reset the bios password
