How to speed up deployment time of SQL reports into SharePoint site?

Hello there Experts,

I have a SQL Reporting Server running in integrated mode inside a SharePoint portal.

My problem is that whenever I deploy reports from my local machine to SharePoint server, it takes very long time to deploy, whereas if I deploy to my local machine (//localhost/reportserver) , it's done very fast.

Any ideas as to what could be the problem with the server?

I know this is a very generic question, and there are probably hundreds of reasons that may cause the slow response. I was hoping though that you through some ideas on what could be the main contributor to the slow deployment.

Thank you so much in anticipation,

Hani

What syntax are you using to deploy locally and to Sharepoint?

Thanks for your help tedbilly. I hope I understand your question correctly

Target URL for the local deployment is:
http://localhost/reportserver

Target URL for SharePoint server:
http://marina:999/RC2

For deployment, I right-click my project and click 'Deploy' from the menu

Is that what you've asked for?

Thanks again,
Hani

You links look fine.  It's probably simply the added overhead of Sharepoint.  We used SQL Reporting Services integration for awhile then disabled it.  We found there were too many performance problems.
