Combobox inside Datagrid FLASH AS3

I've been trying to insert a combo box inside a datagrid using Actionscript 3.  Found examples for Actionscript 2, but all my code is in AS3.  I've tried way to many verisions that don't work using the checkbox examples that I found, but I seem to be missing something.  I can get the checkbox to work in the datagrid but not the combo box.  What is the difference between putting in a checkbox and a combobox into a datagrid?

Well!  I still have a problem.  i tried to open the cellrender.fla file last night and i got the error "Unexpected file format."  Did you have any problems with the .fla file.  Could you tell me how to set it up.  I think I need to drag combobox and datagrid component on the stage and set the document class to rendererClass.as?

i didn't download it.  you shouldn't need the components on the stage, only in the library.
if that's the only class you're using you can set it as the document class. otherwise import into your main class.

I found out that he created the file using CS4.  I just recreated in CS3.

1. dragged datagrid to stage and named it "dg".
2. dragged movie clip to library
3. dragged textbox to stage and named it "alert_txt"

to

public class RendererClass extends MovieClip{
