EXMERGE fails on Exchange 2000

I want to extract mailboes from Exchange 2000 using EXMERGE.  The program runs fine but fails on the extraction.  I am selecting option 2 and only want to run the part to create the .pst file.  I am running this only selecting a single mailbox until I understand what is failing.  I did try to save the pst to my home folder on another server but the error stayed the same The exmerge.log file data is:

do you have send as/receive as permissions to the mailbox store?

the administrator account does not have the send as/ receive as permissions by default.

you need to specify these at the database level.

Problems using Powershell and Active Directory?

Managing Active Directory does not always have to be complicated.  If you are spending more time trying instead of doing, then it's time to look at something else. For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why

I'm trying to figure out how to check the permissions you referenced above.  I have never managed Exchange before and admit to no knowledge, although I have been managing a Server2003 network for years

ok no worries.

open exchange console

drill down to the mailbox store

right click it and select properties

click the security tab

here you can edit the perms

Making the suggested changes has had no effect on the execution of EXMerge.  I printed out the MS KB article and double-checked the suggested security modifications.  We continue to get the exact same error: Error extracting information from server DN '' (CMapiSession::GetInfoFromProfile)
We also re-enabled the user account to make sure that was not contributing.

Please ca nyou advise if this users mailbox is hidden from the GAl in AD under the exchange advanced tab in their user account?

Your suggestions were what I needed.  The ExMerge is easy to use and does what is advertised, and yes, I had to unhide the mailbox from the address book.  The other hangup was my fault, having to do with what account I was logged in as..  Thanks for all your quick responses.
