I made a huge mistake that is almost funny except it may cost me 300 $ , i the county i live in we have county tax stickers i put this on my motorcycle to low on the fork and the sticker jammed into the FORK SEAL!!!! now it is leaking , I went to get a tire put on and was told that this should be fixed ASAP i am not sure i believe that this cant just be kept full of oil and it will be ok, tthis could be a waring to all who read this not to make the same mistake i did : but how urgent is this need to be fixed or can i just make sure it is  kept full of fork oil????

If the seal is broken / leaking, it is an unpredictable weak spot.  Instead of the hydraulic providing a measured rate of dampening, the seal may burst, releasing pressure unexpectedly.

Best case:  no big bumps, and you are just leaking oil all over Mother Earth until you get it fixed

Worst case: blow the seal, bottom the fork, take a dive (left or right?)

In all fairness, you could have a non-leaking seal that suddenly fails upon impact...

Statistically, how many times have you dumped a bike and REALLY needed that helmet?   Feel like riding naked?

I think what you are saying is "get it fixed now!!!"

I'm not your mother.

I run daily server backups, but I'm driving on front tires with no tread at the edges.

So, perhaps my advice is best taken with a grain of salt.
