Will an individual mailbox storage limit configuration will override System policy?

Hi,
Will an individual mailbox storage limit configuration will override System policy? System policy says that the all users can have u[ 2 GB of emails, whereas a particular user wants to have 2.5 GB of storage size temporarily. Can annyone suggest me?

yes, a individual limit will override system policy.  You can set it up to give a warning or to stop send/rcv email altogether.
