Hello, we have a client who has successfully demoted first DC which is a Windows 2000 Server. All necessary services and roles were moved to a new W2003 DC, including DNS. His issue is that when he disables DNS server service on the old W2000 machine, netlogon service on this machine is unable to start. He has not tried removing and re-joining machine to a domain yet. Can someone suggest some tips?

Thanks much!

Or make sure that
in
ipconfig /all
you have not configured only this OLD DNS server

sk_raja_raja, I am sorry for this funny misunderstanding, it was very late night, I was going through several posts and I did not realize I am answering my own question ;)) I hope you had good laugh as I did.
Anyway, I have read through the links you provided and forwarded necessary information to our client who in turn has resolved the problem by completely uninstalling dns from the old server and setting dns entries to the new one. Thanks much, I am accepting your post.
