Blackberry Desktop manager sync very very slow

Upgraded to a new PC with Vista Ultimate on it.  Blackberry Desktop manager v4.6 takes about 5-7 minutes each time to sync with my outlook 2007 (via USB).  On my old PC it took about 30 seconds.  Old one was XP and Outlook 2003 with USB connection.  Blackberry tech support was no help.    They suggsted checking compatibility mode but I already did that.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled.

Not trying to insult you but it's best to check everything (although if you're running Vista Ultimate you probably have a new computer and this won't be an issue).  Are you connected to a 2.0 USB port?

no insult taken (amazing the number of times problems have turned out to be a simple thing I assumed).  But yes it is definitely a USB 2,0 port.
But you did make me think of something related.  The user (not me) has a docking station and I do not know if the device is plugged into that or his PC directly or if he has tried both ways.  I will ask him and if it turns out to be that is the problem I would give you an assist on this.
OK more  info.  does not make any diff if connected directly or via docking station.  However if he downgrades the color scheme it syncs at full speed.  So makes me think it is just a CPU power or memory bandwidth thing - which is really weird for a brand new pretty powerful PC.  he is not noticing slowness with anything else other than this Blackberry syncing.  So it seems strange it would be just a pure "power" issue.
I've had issues where the USB on the front of the computer synced slowly or poorly vs the back of the computer. I would recommend you try syncing w/ a port on the back.

However, since you said the color scheme... that sure is wierd. My computer at home has the same stats as you, and Ive never had this issue.
If the color scheme is slowing things down this leads me to believe the CPU or RAM (more likely) aren't sufficient.
