Error backing up SQL databases, Connection Error during Consistency check.

I'm running backup Exec 11d on a Win2k3 server.  For the past week I've been getting the following error while trying to backup SQL databases.

An unknown or unexpected database error occurred while attempting a DBCC.
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionRead (recv()).]General network error. Check your network documentation.

This happens during the consistency check and only happens on this server. ( I don't experience it on the other SQL servers.)  I've tried restarting the SQL server experiencing these problems to no avail.  I've combed the error logs and a connection is established between the backup server and SQL server.   About 30-40% through the DBCC the connection error starts to show up.  It will process the first 20-30 DBs before I get the dreaded "An unknown or unexpected database error occurred while attempting a DBCC."
It does not stop on a specific database either... The connection error has started on a different DB on each backup iteration.
Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting this problem?  I can't find any information on Symantec's website and I haven't applied any updates / changes to the 2 servers....

Have you got Advanced open file on?
Try removing 1 DB from the backup list, and see if that makes a difference

I do have advanced open File on.

I'm removing a single DB from the list... I'll let you know tomorrow if I have any success.

There was a rogue database causing problems.  A DB was stuck in "restore" causing connection problems.  Thanks.
