I'm using Window Backup tool to backup my Window 2003. It work fine but I always need to free the tape and catalog to prepare the backup tape for the next day. Is there any way to get rid of it so that the whole backup will be carried out automatically ?

Many thanks.

You can get an entry level NAS or SAN storage and backup your data to it. You can choose to save your catalog in that external storage as well.

If you are looking to create a bat file and schedule it running, you can get in command line and type:

ntbackup /?

It will then show you lots of option in ntbackup that you can put in your batch file. You can automate your process if you want to overwrite the tape, backup to disk drives....
