Paperport 11 "SendTo" link stopped working overnight

I have PaperPort 11 installed on a PC running WinXP. This program has a "SendTo" link located in a toolbar, from which I was able to send a scanned image to Outlook Express as an attachment. One day, this was working fine; the next day, the process stopped working. I am not getting any error codes, but once I click on the SendTo Outlook icon, a window pops up, and the program hangs.

I tried to resolve this issue by re-configuring Outlook Express as the default mail client and creating a new Outlook Express link within Paperport (per http://knowledgebase.nuance.com/view.asp?60VQ=JHFH&5d7r4B=rznvy), but this did not help.

The PaperPort program  has a window that says it is sending the scanned image to Outlook Express; PaperPort then hangs; while Outlook Express continues to run with no problem.

I am looking for the Paperport installation disk but have not had any luck in locating it yet (this law firm has not kept good track of their software prior to asking me to help out).

Was not aware of the last option for making OE my default program & will try that as well.

What window?  Which program hangs?
There are at least three places to make OE your default mail program.   OE Tools|Options|General tab at bottom.  IE Tools|Internet Options|Programs tab.  And Start|Set Program Access and Defaults|Set Program Access and Defaults (in left panel) . The last can also be reached through Control Panel|Add/remove.

Perhaps uninstall and reinstall Paperport?
