Error message when trying to connect to exchange server

We are switching over a client from a 3rd party exchange system to their own mail server.
Everything went fine for everyone except 1 computer. This computer happened to be on a different 3rd party system that used and exchange server instead of connecting with POP.
I can remove the old hosted exchange server but when I try to attach to the new one, i get the following error:
"The action could not be completed. The operation failed."
Which takes me to another box to try to connect which then gives me this error:
"The name could not be resolved. The operation failed."
Our exchange expert that set everything up is not available and this client is very dependent on their emails, especially this one user. I am not an exchange expert but I was able to connect the rest of the machines to the exchange server in his absence, but I cannot figure this one out.
Any hints or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
