This sounds like you have spyware/adware on your computer. Do you have any protection? Any popup that come up saying you have an infection is usually the infection its self. can you be more specific as to what the exact message you get is.

download adaware 2008 and spyware doctor from a different computer and install it to do full scans... should detect many instances of it.

Make sure you clean it out.

If it's Antivirus XP 2008 that has infected your computer, here are instructions for removing it:

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

Itzel05, I don't know which one of us you are replying to.  You speak of Antivirus XP;  I gave you a page on a type of program that professes itself to be an Antivirus program but is really a type of malware itself.  This Antivirus XP 2008 is very common on the internet, and causes lots of problems.  Do you see a screen when you boot up that looks like the one on this Symantec page:

http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2008-071613-4343-99&tabid=2

Itzel05,

you are not providing us with any information to help you. Please attach either screen shots, or more specific details on the errors you are seeing.

If you are seeing more then just the AntiVirus XP 2008 windows then chances are that you have more then one infection. Do you have an actual valid antivirus program installed? Chances are not, since you are having this problem. Depending on how far along it is, you will probably have to rebuild your system from scratch because once you are infected with on malware/virus/spyware they tend to multiply and "invite" all their relatives and friends to live in your computer.

If you do decide to rebuild your computer, disconnect it from the internet, rebuild, install antivirus software, and only then reconnect to the internet.

If you can from that PC or another got to
http://www.spychecker.com/software/antispy.html

Download the following to programs  spybot  and spywareterminator

install them on you PC one at at time, run their respectives updates and scan you system

on spybot do not install the tea timer since spywareterminator has a betterone build in ,in my opinion, that will let you know and will ask you for permision when changes are been done on your system

Spyware terminator has also awebsecurity measure that will let you know most of the time if any webpage you are vissitnig has spyware or viruses.

I had your hijackthis log analyzed at this site:

There were no problems found.

Your Adaware log seems pretty harmless, too; full of all sorts of internet explorer cookies, but nothing harmful.  However, if you are inflicted with Antivirus XP 2008, I think you should take a look at my link above to the tool for removing it.

Download and run Autoruns (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx)

This will give you a very good picture of almost everything your computer is doing and a good starting point to finding offending software.

What anti-virus do you have, try to run the antivirus at start up, before windows load

Your antivirus should have that option

If not try www.avast.com  download the home edition of avast, since it is free, during installation it will ask you if you want to run a scan at boot time say yes. restart you PC

You may need to uninstall your current anti-virus if you want to use avast

I think Mcafee updates requires you to subscribe and pay after 3 months of using it for the first time.

Check you virus definition and make sure is uptodate.and run the scan a boot time

Avast home is a free antivirus that only requires you to resgister after two months and serilal number is send to you via email and is good for about 14 months after that you just have to reregister every 14 months for a new key but still free
