Hi I'm looking for tool, that will help me view changes to a database. I've used RedGate SQL compare / Data compare which are both excellent products. I'm looking for a free product. I heard MS has a few app, but i couldn't find in on google. Any thoughts on what it could be called, or any suggestions?

As far as i know there is no free comparer that i could relay on and said i can hit F5 without warries i wouldnt delete/change something wrong. If there is any free it has limitations how many tables or SP's u can compare/snyc.

RedGate and Apex have very good tools for compare schemas and data, what Microsoft have is implemented in Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (together with Visual Studio Team System Database Editon) and MS soulution is much much expensive than redgate and apex one.

Anyway if u find any equaly good as 2 mentioned i would like to know too :) but until then good luck searching :)

Think the one chapmandew posted looks pretty good...

Ever heard of Toad ? Not sure if it is what you looking for - seems to be more of a SSMS replacement rather than comparison - there is a comercial version with lot more features (but then that costs). http://www.toadsoft.com/get2knowSS/index.html

and then there is : http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/mladenp/archive/2007/11/20/Free-SQL-Server-tools-that-might-make-your-life-a.aspx

thanks guys, really like

http://www.xsqlsoftware.com/LiteEdition.aspx

very simple " saids what it does on the tin " app. There is a limit to the amount a tables you can compare on the lite version. Tho is really fair price.
