I requested how to block chat programs and I tested on my computer and blocked AOL CHAT and now do not remember how - I thought it was in a registry file.

Can someone assist me on where to start to look?

Did you do it locally on your computer or throught the network?  You could do it by dns redirect.  Block ports on your firewall.  Or use a local host file c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts or c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

not on the host file as it is still the sample file - I did it on my actual computer and not on the server...

anywhere else I can look?

maybe blocked the doman under IE tools>options>security>restricted sites>sites.  Or maybe on your firewall start>control panel>windows firewall

Nope not in IE or firefox...Windows firewall is off since we use symnatec network firewall - I checked anyway and it is not there...

I remember changing a service or registry file - darn darn

AOL still worked until I obviously restarted my computer
