You'll have to open the PC again. Check near to the Video output socket on your motherboard for a black chip. It should have a name or model number on.<br />

the only black chip i can see near the monitor and speaker sockets on the mother board has this RTL81008L on it. does that help?<br />

both the monitor and Speakers seem to connect driectly to the mother board. <br />

Ok. That is your NIC's chip. What kind of motherboard do you have? What is the model number of the board? Might be Gigabit?

I recently had to reformat my hard drive and now after installing win xp the screen has poor resolution, i have been told its the drivers for the video card that i need to reinstall but not sure how to find out type or model of this, i have looked inside the pc but to be honest i would not know what one looks like unless it had a label on it! if more info is needed to offer a solution please let me know, thanks.
