can I resume a conversion of a physical machine if the job was cancelled half way through.

I also may have to wait until the evening to attempt it again, as the original server will be used during the day.

the reason it was cancelled seems to be a restart initiated by winlogon.exe

there was a restart window that kept coming up because of an install. I'm thinking that this is why it restarted.

here's the log file entry for the restart:
The process winlogon.exe has initiated the restart of computer WLSERVER2 on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found
 Reason Code: 0x80020002
 Shutdown Type: restart
 Comment:

I was logged on in console mode from another computer that restarted. I'm not sure if this caused the server to restart too.

The main thing is that the vmware converter job was cancelled at 50%. Can I resume this job or do I have to start over?

turns out that you can only start the job over.

I deleted the files it made and started the job over.

the restart was my own fault for not turning off automatic updates on the destination server.
