recover files from win vista

i have a dell inspiron with win xp installed i decide to format the hard drive and install win vista it's working great but y forgot to save some files that i need, how i can recover them.
 I already try to using programs like easy recover but did not work please some one can tell me which program use to recover this pictures thanks

The only option is to immediately stop using the HD. If you keep on using this disk your OS will write to it and overwrite any old data that previously occupied that space. Connect it to another PC and scan it using getdataback. If your lucky and the files you are looking for haven't been overwritten by Vista, it'll show you them and then you can register the tool and copy the files to this other PC. But it is very likely that you have overwritten those files. Vista uses a lot more disk space than XP did, so it is very likely the space the old files were on has now been used by Vista.
