How to return value from state machine workflow step to host application

Hi,
    I am developing a state machine workflow in .net 3.5. ASP.net application is the host application. I am raising events from host applications to workflow .I am passing parameters to workflow through eventargs. But,how can i return a value from workflow step to host application .I want to return value back to application before workflow completes.

Hi HimagiriV,

One way to achieve what you ask is by using the Call External Method activity, which basically invokes a method of some outer-world (non workflow) object with a specified parameter. Although it may sound simple, the implementation requires that you go through some steps. These steps however, are pretty straightforward.
