net use command sometimes hangs

We are running Oracle's ERP suite.  For one task, we have it spawn a bat file.  This file does a net use to map a drive, copies a file and demaps the drive.

Sometimes, the net use command just hangs and eventually has to be killed.  Always works from the command line.  Any suggestions on what could cause it to hang sometimes and other times work?

Not a lot of info to work with here but the cause could be the network - it cannot map the drive and continues to try to connect.
When the network or remote host is fine, it connects successfully.

You could use the /persistent switch to keep the drive mapped

That is what we elected to do.  Just leave the drive mapped instead of mapping/demapping it.
