Faulting application outlook.exe

One of my users have been getting lockups with Outlook 2007 with the following errors in the event viewer:

Faulting application outlook.exe, version 12.0.6316.5000, stamp 4833a470, faulting module msptls.dll, version 12.0.6211.1000, stamp 46ccd9ee, debug? 0, fault address 0x0001a854.

It appears to be intermittent and I have yet to reproduce the problem myself in person. She says it is typically when she opens attachments which usually is something like an Excel file, PDF, or Word file. The attachments seem to open just fine when I ask her to open them after Outlook threw it's toys and restarted.

Does anybody have any ideas what may be causing this and how to resolve it?

Thanks!

the cause of this can be completely random... fixes however are not...
I would first try reinstall office 2007, but if this is a preinstalled office 2007 proves mroe difficult, I have downloaded the software for preinstallation office 2007 so im sure you will be able to aswell.
if this is a stardard office 2007 install you should have no issues fixing this by reinstall.
also after reinstalling check that all updates are installed on the office suite.
if still she is getting errors, and when another person loggs into her machine and doesnt ahve the issue... you will need to recreate her profile on the machine.

Interested if that solve the users problem.  Because I am having the same problem with one of my users. Outlook closes when opening a word or PDF file. This only happens randomly.

In my case the reinstall resolved the problem my user had. I'm not sure whether it will prove to be a solution in your case.
