Hi.

I got a HA failiure on one ESX 3.5 server, it says :

HA agent om xx.xx.xx.xx in cluster XXXXX has an error.
I tried "Reconfigure for VMware HA", still the same problem.

The event description says :

HA agent on xx.xx.xx.xx in cluster XXXX in XXXXX has an error : failed to delete Vmap_xxxxx process

Where do i look and what can i do ?

Thanks
Thomas

HA is very sensitive when it comes to DNS.
First step i would do is to check if the hosts dont have a DNS problem.
Make sure that they both can resolve the FQDN of each other.

The hosts that are setup in the cluster also need to be added via FQDN.  If you add via ip address you may also get this issue.

Thanks for your input, i found the missing link.

It was the licence server, i restarted that and rebooted the ESX and then problem was solved.

Right.

That sounds logical.
Glad to hear you solved it then :)
