Hi the setting  "scan files opened for backup" would this be beneficial to be removed from an overnight backup? would this speed it up?

It would as every file going to be backed up is being scanned.

so take this setting off my backup server and my backup would be very quick???

Well, I would never go as far as saying very quick but it should speed it up.

Alternativly remove McAfee and run a backup to see the difference in speed.
