Backup Line

Hello everybody,
                            I have this situation:
2 farms linked with one another via radio witn 2 switching  in spanning tree.
If the line falls between the 2 switch is possiile use a line  adsl-vpn----vpn-adsl       
who continue to use the spanning tree?

Spanning tree cannot be used on the VPN tunnels. VPN is layer 3 only.
