Hello,

Since it is now more or less accepted that an Exchange system can be virtualized on vmware, has any one has experience virtualizing an exchange 2007 mailbox role system with more than 1000 users?

We are thinking to upgrade to exchange 2007 with 3500 users and having it on a virtual server is very attractive. Do you recommend the databases to be under vmdk or access them via iscsi or CIFS since we are using a highly redundant SAN.

Thk,
Libet.

Hi,
As far as my info goes Virtualising it on VMWARE is not yet supported by Microsoft, you can try Virtual Server.
Also, Virtualising will not have a major effect if you actually have a good base box, so no  worries on that part, it will boil down to actual hardware, so assume what you would need on actual hardware make the virtual environment the same
