VS2003 to VS2005 upgrade issue

I am having an issue where VS2005 is not building the .dll file for my web project.

I am in the process of converting VS2003 projects to VS2005 and trying to rebuild them against the 2.0 framework.

The projects have no errors and the Build Web Site executes with success - 0 failed, 0 skipped.

I have deleted all instances of the VS2003 version of the .dll and searched the harddrive for any instances after the rebuild and find none.

The web app is failing (as expected) since the .dll is not available.

Did I miss something in the conversion/upgrade or some configuration item in VS2005?

Thanks.

Robb

check the references of your project, is one missing?

This particular project has no references.

There is no error that I am aware of.
I am not getting the .dll file to be created.

have you created a web application or a web site? right-click your project and select the option to convert to a web application. then it will create a dll

The compilation process is not reporting an error.
The web application is reporting - Parser Error Message: The file '/web/AssetPerformance.NET/AssetStatementTrackAssetSearch.aspx.vb' does not exist.
This is because the .dll does not exist, I am assuming.

I let the VS2005 upgrade wizard convert the the VS2003 project.  Did it do something that I missed?
Convert to web application - I don't know where to do that?

Éric MoreauSenior .Net ConsultantCommented:
if it is looking for a .vb file then you have a "web site" template (which does not generate a dll but you have to copy all your code-behind files to your web server).

I already told you to right-click your project

do you have sp1 for VS2005?

ofghelpdeskAuthor Commented:
I have installed SP1 for VS2005 and I still don't have Convert to Web Application as demostrated here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa479567.aspx
I have completed a full uninstall and re-install of VS2005 and SP1 with no change in the outcome as to the above.
I do have the option to select Web Application Projects now for new projects which I did not have before.
I have found reference to an Add In that is needed but all of the links I have found for it are dead.
On this blog - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa479567.aspx , it states that this should all be available via SP1 anyway.
Am I missing something?

I started over with the migration to VS2005 after installing SP1 and following the instructions on the links below.  Things went much more as expected.
