Hi There,

Some of the users are complaining that the plotter is set to print in 300 dpi  and they want it to print on 1200 dpi. Can some one tell me how can I do that on the server . The Plotter is HP 4000 Plotter.

Thanks,

Here is the user manual

http://bizsupport.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00282968/c00282968.pdf

On page 128-131 it tells how to change the resolution. I don't know about the server.

In the same manual joed mentions, Page 231 talks about the embedded server which allows for complete remote control of the printer on the network.  This is a good place to start.

Also be aware that 1200 x1200 resolution is allowed, but there are configuration capabilities for optimizing print quality.  Depending on the nature of the prints, forcing 1200 x 1200 could mean huge print files.  Even for 8.5 x 11, the print files could possibly have almost 135 megs of data, and larger print areas could possibly use over 200 megs of data per square foot.
