erro in pop3 transaction

hi, we have a exchange server 2007 with sp1 on windows 2003 sp2 eterprise x 64 bit edtion
since yesterday every thing is working fine. we have 3 or 4 pop3 users in our organisation rest of all are exchange account users. now the all pop3 user are receving an error, while Send test e-mail message: None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your serve when do ing smtp transaction pop3 is working fine, can anybody suggest what is wrong in my mail server or in the client configuraration.

First try to run: telnet servname 110 and see the result
after that go to management shell and run: Set-PopSettings -ProxyTargetPort 110

test and post the results

when i run telnet servername 110 it shows ok microsoft exchange server 2007 pop3 service is ready
-ERR connection is close. secondly when i run Set-PopSettings -ProxyTargetPort 110 in exchange command shell it shows the command is completed successfully but no setting of EMAIL\1have been modified. however we are facing problem while processing smtp transaction emails are receving proper.

So in the server pop3 is working ok. Check if users have pop3 enabled. What's the error you hae with smtp? i did not understood.

pop3 is enabled for the user, but when we go to the account setting & try to test email accounts it gives error for the smtp transaction that is Send test e-mail message: None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server. i will try by removing authentication from the server but still it gives same error.
