hi experts..

situtation is i have configured sendmail as a backup email sever to my main exchange server incase of outages. Spamassasin is installed on the server as well and is filtering out the rubbish that it sent to it well. Mailertable is configured to relay mail for my domain only. My problem is that i'm getting a large amount of forged users@mydomain.com. Sendmail then generates a NDR which is sent to the postmaster. Trouble is think i'm target of constant dha attacks so postmaster is getting hundreads of these NDR's a day. ..

question is either how can i configure send mail to not send ndr's or can anyone suggest another way to avoid this ? thanks Doddy..

in the virtualusertable create an entry for that postmaster@yourdomain.com address and send it to a local user, or better yet a local alias that points to /dev/null (once your sure it's working)

You really should be checking the mail going to postmaster, but if you're getting slammed with ndrs, I'm sure you can just toss them.
