Apologies hit submit before I was ready ...  wanted to include some resource links since no one has yet responded.  If not already done, definitely recommend checking for updated video drivers as well as ensuring DirectX is updated.  Some other stuff:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/livemeeting/HA102415201033.aspx
To connect to video ...If the main video is not visible, click Voice & Video, click the webcam icon, and then click Show Main Video.
If you want to use a webcam, follow the instructions provided with your webcam for connecting it to your computer and installing the drivers. Then click Voice & Video, click the webcam icon, and then click Start My Video.   Note   If the meeting uses RoundTable for panoramic video, click Voice & Video.

Depending on the graphics cards installed, this may well apply in terms of distortion you mentioned and if these graphic cards are installed.
Excerpt only, click link for more detail please:  The symptoms include distorted or scrambled video on the computer screen, and no video on the computer screen or external display even though the MacBook Pro is powered on.

Without the Asker's ongoing feedback to see progress/roadblocks and so on (in other words, staying fully engaged), not sure how anyone here can help further.  Sorry I couldn't provide more than I did.  Thank you for asking.
