When I add checkboxes to a flex Tree component and scroll the scrollbar up and down continuously some of the items appear checked without my initiating the check and then if I continue the scrolling some of the checked items will eventually uncheck.  Has anyone encountered this behavior and is there a programmatic way to resolve this?

Not sure what you mean by "adding checkboxes", but you should bear in mind that most list based Flex controls use renderer recycling when you scroll in order to limit memory usage. Hence, if you're setting stuff on your renderer based on some logic that resides elsewhere, these properties will not get updated when you scroll.

The solution:
You need to implement IDropInListItemRenderer in your renderer and make sure that all updates are "fed" by the listData property.
