Rebuilding the sent mailbox always crash the Mail application<br />

I am missing mailbox messages, i.e. in sent mailbox the list is mostly empty (should be around 4,000 massages).<br />
<br />
I did the following:<br />
- Rebuild some of the mail boxes, rebuilding the sent mailbox always crash the Mail application<br />
- After Restoring from Time Machine, some time I could see for a few seconds messages in the sent Mailboxes and then it disappear again.<br />
- Using Cocktail do not help either &nbsp;<br />
- Repair Disk using Disk utility from installer disk didn't help<br />

Missing mailbox messages,

Interactions between email servers and clients are governed by email protocols. The three most common email protocols are POP, IMAP and MAPI. Most email software operates under one of these (and many products support more than one).  The correct protocol must be selected, and correctly configured, if you want your email account to work.

Email Protocols
