The best way to check this is to get a new device and see what you need to do to get it onto the network.  Maybe borrow a laptop and see what you have to do.

If it does get on then maybe the direct-TV box is trying to go out on a non-standard port and you have a firewall on your internet connection.

Why are Office 365 signatures so complicated?

Trying to setup transport rules for Office 365 email signatures and can’t quite figure it out? Having to test the signature over and over? Make things simple by using Exclaimer Cloud - Signatures for Office 365.

so which one are you connecting to ?  The linksys ?
start by rebooting it.  See if it shows as online and gets an IP address.
If not you need to reconfigure it so it is set up on your network
