Hello,

I have a slide loading movie. I am using MovieClipLoader object and calling loader.loadClip(slideImageURL,movieClip). Fairly simple code and it has been working for a while. Now however it dowsn't work with flash 10 plyer. It works in CS3 studio, bowever in the product page, onLoadError gets invoked with LoadNeverCompleted error code. I have a fair bit of code which is all AS 2. The class file for this is attached.

My product is Dimdim. You can easily see the movie I am talkng about working on www.dimdim.com by registering an id, starting a meeting and sharing a powerpoint presentation.

Thanks,
-Jayant.

FP 10 claims to be backward compatible so there should be no reason for it to work in FP9 and not 10.
can you provide the code where the error gets thrown.

I added another question with the code. The code is really a single line.

loadMovie("http://jp2.dimdim.com:81/pmgr/retrievePresentation?meetingID=_default____2ynxm4a&presentationFile=czrs6362&slideNo=0",pic_mc);

Is it possible for you try this. I could also send you the fla file if possible. I couldn't attach it to the question.

Flash Player 10 appears to have a real show-stopper:  child movie clips do not inherit the settings established in HTML OBJECT and/or EMBED elements.  For example, specifying a "bgColor" affects only the parent movie, not the children.  "Backward-compatible"?  "Backward", yes (they probably had this issue with FP1) - "compatible", no.

I maintain a hybrid site that uses Flash, with Macromedia Flash Professional 8.  I upgraded my Flash Player from 9 to 10 on Monday morning, only to find that none of my child movies work properly.    Perhaps your problem is related - unless they've got more surprises for us.

Sorry for the long silence. Been extremely busy. We found the solution on the server side. This image url was being served as attachment with content type download. We changed the server side python code to serve the image as inline with content type of octet-data. There was no change on the client side code.
