AP Aironet AIR-LAP1131AG-E<br />

The controller sees the AP - &nbsp;operational statuse UP<br />
the AP got its IP assigned by DHCP from a Zyxel Firewall<br />
Clents can see SSID but fail to acquire an ip address<br />
There is no problem getting an ip address on the network through a cable connection<br />
Wireless is unsecured<br />

Any ideas what might be causing this? <br />

I am trying to set up a wireless network but clients cannot obtain an IP through DHCP:

Cisco controller 4402
AP Aironet AIR-LAP1131AG-E

The controller sees the AP -  operational statuse UP
the AP got its IP assigned by DHCP from a Zyxel Firewall
Clents can see SSID but fail to acquire an ip address
There is no problem getting an ip address on the network through a cable connection
Wireless is unsecured


Any ideas what might be causing this?

Wireless networking is a method by which homes, telecommunications networks and enterprise (business) installations avoid the costly process of introducing cables into a building, or as a connection between various equipment locations. Wireless telecommunications networks are generally implemented and administered using radio communication. This implementation takes place at the physical level (layer) of the OSI model network structure. The key hardware components of a wireless computer network include adapters, routers and access points, antennas and repeaters.

Wireless Hardware

The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is an auto configuration protocol used on IP networks and an extension of the Bootstrap Protocol. DHCP allows for computers to be configured automatically to communicate with each other over an IP network without the need for manual setup by a network administrator. The implementation of DHCP relies on a DHCP server to hand out network configuration information to DHCP-capable clients that request an IP address (and other information required or useful in communicating with other devices on an IP network). In addition to an IP address, common configuration information served over DHCP includes a default gateway, subnet mask and DNS sever(s).
