I have installed wine 1.1.5 on my Fedora 9 box.

Can get word and excel running , but i really would like to get outlook running as i still use an ( i know curse me for saying it ) exchange server for my email more so for pushing appointments, calendar items and tasks to my Windows mobile HTC.

My question is well Can i run outlook in wine (stability would be nice) , and if so how ?

Another question relating to this is , can i run a open source mail server and push mail to my windows mobile with some sorta exchange emulation module or program...  and how to setup that up.

point me in the right direction if its long winded...

Any way This goes out too the one's are mail server and windows emulation Savant's..

Many thanks for your inputs ,

KMAN......

You can use Cross Over Linux Software. You get download it from www.codeweavers.com . Outlook has been tested and is stable. Cross Over Linux is wine based software.

The above product , ie code weavers , does work fine for basic excel word and outlook emulation(pst mode) ,

however it is not stable  for my need.. I needed outlook 2007 2003 running in exchange server mode and the proprietry network traffic this creates locks up outlook everytime not to mention SElinux blocks it ...
and then crash reboot time....

Wine works only for word excel , codeweavers you can get outlook working ( pst mode only) I haven;t tried access but i read its not stabe...

I was going to try and get outlook working Via exchange IMapi thus overcomming the network protocol issues. But i have opted for complete vitualisation

I've gone for VMware 6 for linux and created a virtual machine of a windows box and i run this inside VMware  on my fedora box.. much less issues and i can move the VM image to other machines when im on the move...\

I strongly suggest  hardware virtualisation IE VMware over kernel and os virtualisations at this point ion time way more reliable...

Thankyou all ( all beit 1 person) for your input but I think I solved this 1, do i get 500 points?

Nevermind,.,,,,,,,
